Elon Musk loves to tweet for clout, and it appears that his tendency to tweet shocking things has pulled McDonald’s ($MCD@US) into the conversation. The Tesla ($TSLA@US) CEO took to Twitter ($TWTR@US) recently to say that he will go on TV with a Happy Meal if McDonald’s will accept Dogecoin (
$0.088 ) . The tweet read, “I will eat a happy meal on TV if McDonald’s accepts Dogecoin ( $0.088 ) .” While this might seem like a silly challenge, it is a popular tweet that got 14,000 retweets and 83,000 likes in a short period of time. This notion is not new as Musk said in his Time Man of the Year interview that Doge has a better transactional value than Bitcoin (
$81,163.00 ) . Some might even claim that Musk is trying to bring back some value to a cryptocurrency that has suffered mightily over the past few months. Since it reached its all-time high of 74 cents in May of 2021, Dogecoin ( $0.088 ) has dropped as far as 13 cents. At press time, Dogecoin ( $0.088 ) was trading at 14.14 cents, up 10% on increasing volume and a rising market cap. In the short term, the tweet is working.
