Coinbase halts buying and selling as crypto market plunges

On Friday people were prohibited from buying and selling on the popular cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. In recent days the overall market for digital currencies has been under extreme pressure. Coinbase released a statement saying: “Due to today’s high traffic, buys and sells may be temporarily offline. We’re working on restoring full availability as soon as possible.” The company said it is “working on a fix” in an alert, adding that it apologizes for inconveniences.
